RE: EFL TECH ELECTROLUMINESENT SIGNAGE FOR SURFACE MINE EQUIPMENT AND ROAD SIGNEAGE

Since October 2011 we have installed the electroluminescent signs to our surface road equipment. This safety initiative has not only improved the visibility of this equipment during night operations and inclement weather, but has substantially improved the identification of this equipment working in and around large off road trucks.

With this improvement functioning we have now increased the use of these signs in an attempt to assist in managing fatigue in our operators. The electroluminescent signs we have installed at critical intersections have again improved the level of safety for our employees by visually alerting them of the approaching intersection.
I have to also state that the quality of the signs and associated technical products are second to none, and we have extensively tested these in the most arduous conditions.

This trial has been so successful we are now seeing this extending to other Leighton Contractor mining operations, and are currently working with other sectors of our business to utilise this technology.
