EL Vehicle ID Numbers & Safety Strips

Reflective EL signage for heavy vehicles and machinery that can be relied upon in all light and weather conditions

Identifying vehicles at night is a must in mining safety. Conventional reflective signage is a standard in every mining site. They serve their purpose in perfect weather conditions but when it rains or working conditions throw up dust, reflective signage could not be relied upon, until now.

EFL Tech has developed electroluminescent lighting technology that stands up to these conditions.

Our electroluminescent signs illuminate by running an AC current across billions of phosphor particles which emit a uniform light output that can be seen in all weather conditions with identifiable visibility over 1km.

Identifying machinery correctly on a mine site is a life-saving requirement, thus EFL Tech is proud to offer our Vehicle ID Numbers to the industry, doing our part to help workers come home safely to their families.

Safety Strips and Electroluminescent Signage for light vehicle visibility

Safety strips and electroluminescent signage for light vehicle visibility.

Light vehicles in construction, mining, road and site maintenance rely on visibility strips and numbers to be identified. In mine sites, standard vinyl stickers perform adequately in fine weather, but when weather or conditions prove more challenging, the visibility is significantly compromised.

Our light vehicle EL technology can be applied on a vinyl adhesive surface that can attach to vehicles in the same way that most vehicle signage does. It uses electroluminescent ink, powered by smart inverter technology

What makes electroluminescent technology different to LED?

The key difference with EFL Tech frequency-specific panels is that they are not point source. They provide even, diffused light output that retains its brightness and does not haze in bad weather as opposed to light sourced from groups of LED dots.

Key characteristics:

  • has very low power consumption;

  • is reliable, and does not catastrophically fail as it consists of millions of microscopic particles;

  • is paper thin, typically between 0.25mm-4mm;

  • is conformable to wrap around curves surfaces and

  • is landfill friendly as it does not draw on any hazardous materials
